Making Fugue
Preparation. Production. Reflection.
Making Fugue was a long and painful endeavor filled with a plethora of lessons. We expected the challenge and planned on documenting every bit of the process that we could. Below are a few ways we've chosen to share some of the hardest lessons learned on this production, that hopefully other filmmakers can learn from.
production diaries
Read a detailed journal of every day of principal photography, from the perspective of the writer/director. Pressures and failures are discussed along with the few triumphant successes of a troubled production. The diaries are also accompanied by videos of that day onset and pictures from specific moments.
featurettes
Watch the cast and crew reminisce on the process of making the film. Each featurette consists of a handful of interviews along with behind the scenes footage where the crew discusses the experience of memorable moments on Fugue. A variety of perspectives are offered that give a unique view on the challenges faced onset.
commentaries
Listen to a commentary of the film produced by Gabe and various other members of the team. Not only are pre-production and principal photography hiccups discussed, but also post production and editing hangups that had to be overcome. The commentary is included alongside the full film, which is regularly paused for discussion.
